Hello there! Hope your day is going well. It’s a new week and we all have our goals in mind for the days ahead. First on my list is getting the word out about my work in progress.

If you’ve read my writing prompts and are familiar with prompt #17 -Wings, then you know of the story of the girl who awoke with wings of her very own. What you might not know is that the story stayed with me long after I finished the writing prompt. I was reluctant to let the characters go, thus deciding to continue their story into a full-length novel. I had a lot of fun writing the story and am thrilled to tell you that it is done. The ongoing editing, however, has not been so much fun. It often feels like I’m on my 50th round of edits!

So, the point of today’s post was to let you know what was going on, and to get you excited to read my upcoming book. If you have not yet read writing prompt #17-Wings, please feel free to check it out. It’s actually the first chapter of the book.

Without further ado, here is the introduction to Chrysalis of Change:

Lena Flores was a normal 23-year-old college student with goals and a simple life. Everything was going according to plan until the annual Halloween party. She never expected her crush to be the one that would throw her world into complete chaos. Nothing could’ve prepared her for what followed. The introduction to a new world and her sudden transformation made her react in strange ways. Lena began to question everything she’s ever known.

Feeling lost and scared, she wasn’t sure who to trust or what to do. As she discovers more about herself, she realizes the responsibility that she was born into is a heavy one. Will she rise to the challenge and become who she is destined to be? Can she trust her crush to help guide her through this new life? Will it be enough to help save the people in her new world?

I'm an aspiring writer. I'm a big lover of romance and sci-fi novels and have been a voracious reader for as long as I can remember. I'm a wife and a mother. I spent over fifteen years working in offices as Receptionist, Administrative Assistant and Executive Assistant until I had my first child. I live in sunny South Florida and have a love/hate relationship with the weather here.
