Perseverance by definition means persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
With that said, let me just say that I am freaking tired. I didn’t want to sit down to write or create a weekly newsletter or even create this post! I’ve had sick kids this week and then there was the anxiety of dealing with a possible hurricane and all the shifting of the forecast track that turned out for us to be a tropical storm force winds and ranis with a side of tornado’s that went with it. Then cleaning up the aftermath of a destroyed yard. Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful that’s all I have to deal with. The people in the middle of the state didn’t get so lucky. My heart and prayers are with all the people that are going through struggles after Hurricane Ian.
The point of all this is just to say this week was nuts. It was hard to push through it all to get work done, but I’m here and I’m pushing through it all. It’s tempting to say, well hell… that’s a lot of stress to deal with in one week I’m sure it’s no big deal to slack off a little. For the most part your right, but, for me it’s a slippery slope that leads to slacking off for a lot longer than necessary and the end result will just leave me feeling depressed. I have to feel like I’ve at least accomplished one little thing every day. All the little things pile up and after a while when you look back you’ll be in awe at all you’ve accomplished. I’m happy to say that I’ve fully jumped back into my book Guilty Pleasures and have actively started writing in it. It’s not much yet, but it’s something and it’s those little steps I’m talking about. So if you feel sluggish today and feel like giving up, don’t do it! Tap into that inner strength and get your stuff done. You’ll be glad you did later.
Have a wonderful weekend!
